Drew & Colleen reached out to me in May for their wedding in August. Even though Bryan and I had already decided that we were no longer booking weddings for this year, I couldn't help but feel that we were meant to work with these two beautiful souls. Their wedding sounded like an absolute dream...a private and casual ceremony followed by a family-style dinner surrounded by 200 of their closest friends and family members at the Paoli Mill Terrace & Park on the banks of the Sugar River. I've had a little obsession with Paoli for a while now and have been dying to shoot a wedding there so I just couldn't turn down this opportunity. Once I met with Drew & Colleen, I knew it was a perfect fit! Chatting over a big ol' plate of chicken nachos, I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. These two are so laid-back and relaxed and their engagement session was no exception!
I had been looking forward to Drew & Colleen's engagement session for a few reasons! To start, this would be my first at-home engagement session. Drew & Colleen have the cutest, little home on Lake Waubesa in McFarland, which provided the perfect backdrop for the shoot. Second, this was my first sunrise engagement session. It was really important to Drew & Colleen to capture the stillness and calmness that the morning offers, and I couldn't agree more. Without tons of boats and people in the background, we could really just focus on being present in the moment. I have to say that I was on CLOUD NINE after spending my morning with these two! They made me laugh the entire time, and it was just so comfortable and natural. Words cannot say just how happy I am that they found me and how excited I am to share their special day with them!
Welcome to the blog, Drew & Colleen!
